NASP, in cooperation with the Department of Political Science of the University of Genoa, is pleased to announce the NASP International Workshop on
Conflicts and Institutions: Projects, Research and Workshops
21 June 2017
Aula Mazzini
University of Genoa
Via Balbi, 5 - Genoa
The dramatic events and emergencies in the Mediterranean, Middle East, and North Africa regions show the need of understanding how domestic institutions can influence violent conflicts and, conversely, how, the latter can affect domestic institutions.
In continuity with the conference "Conflicts & Institutions: Research, Projects and Workshops" (Genoa, 16-17 June 2016), the 2017 NASP International Workshop on Conflicts and Institutions aims at specifying the links and connections between the ongoing crises and current conflicts to examine the relationship between institutions and conflicts. For this purpose, leading scholars in conflicts studies, democratization, peacebuilding and international security have been invited to give lectures and seminars. The Project "Conflicts & Institutions" aims also at creating a network of scholars able to elaborate common research projects and proposals. Young researchers, especially from the NASP Young Investigator Training Program in Political Studies, supported by ACRI, will have the opportunity to discuss their own works with senior scholars in the final session of the Workshop.
The 2017 project has been designed and coordinated by Giampiero Cama (University of Genoa), Andrea Ruggeri (University of Oxford) and Fabrizio Coticchia (University of Genoa).
The NASP International Workshop on Conflicts and Institutions gratefully acknowledges the fundamental support from the Compagnia di San Paolo.
