7th-11th March 2016
Collegio Carlo Alberto
Via Real Collegio 30, Moncalieri (Turin), Italy

The topic for the fourth edition of the ECSR Spring School is "The quantitative analysis of ageing and its relation to social inequality". The School is promoted by ECSR, Collegio Carlo Alberto and by the universities of Milan and Turin in the frame of the NASP (Network for the Advancement in Social and Political Studies). It provides high-quality training on leading-edge theories and methodological approaches to the quantitative analysis of ageing in contemporary societies. Particular attention will be given to the role of social and institutonal factors in shaping the individual outcomes in terms of social stratification and equality of opportunities. A limited number of doctoral students and young researchers will participate to a five-day, full-immersion course, including a) lectures on key current issues in the field; b) an intensive course on the longitudinal analysis of the SHARE database (including hands-on practical work); c) the opportunity to present their work and have it discussed by leading scholars in the field.
The School is organized by Marco Albertini (University of Bologna), Gabriele Ballarino (NASP, University of Milan), Filippo Barbera (NASP, University of Turin), Fabrizio Bernardi (ECSR, EUI), Manuela Naldini (Collegio Carlo Alberto and University of Turin) and Tiziana Nazio (Collegio Carlo Alberto and University of Turin).
