EITM Europe 2017 – Empirical Implications of Theoretical Models Summer Institute 2017

The Empirical Implication of Theoretical Models Summer Institute is a training program, developed in the United States for graduate students and junior faculty, on the development and application of research designs that integrate theoretical models with empirical research with the purpose of advancing our understanding of politics.
The EITM Europe is a similar program, based in Europe and directed by Thomas König of the University of Mannheim, Germany.

The 2017 edition of EITM Europe will take place from 24th June until 8th July 2017 at the Collegio Carlo Alberto in Moncalieri (Turin), Italy. It is directed by Thomas König from the University of Mannheim in collaboration with Fabio Franchino from NASP/University of Milan.

The program is on mixed methods for the study of conflict and cooperation. It will offer four modules, taught by leading scholars, on the most recent developments on these approaches, including statistics, theories and applications.

The faculty includes: James Lo (Princeton University), Thomas Bräuninger (Mannheim University), Macartan Humphreys (Columbia University), and Patrick Bayer (University of Glasgow).

The application deadline for the EITM 2017 summer institute is extended to 5/05/2017.

EITM Europe 2017 is organized in collaboration with the Network for the Advancement of Social and Political Studies (NASP) with the financial support of the Foundation Compagnia di San Paolo and the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Milan. NASP will offer sponsorships as part of the NASP Young Investigator Training Program in Political Studies which received financial support from ACRI.
