Topic of the thesis: Studying the cooperation between nations in the fight against terrorism.
Abstract: My research project aims at analyzing the cooperation between Belgium and France in fighting transnational terrorism. This case will be examined on the light of the game theory studies about counterterrorism and, furthermore, on the basis of the theory of moves. There will be three steps in this research. Firstly, I will focus on the Belgian and French counterterrorism measures dividing them whether they are defensive or proactive, underlying also what are the benefits and the costs of both kinds of policy. In doing this, of course, I will not neglect the European framework. After that, I will focus on which model, among those proposed by Arce and Sandler, fits the situation in the best way. The last step will be working on that model on the basis of the theory of moves, a new branch of game theory.
