Topic of the thesis: Between Entrepreneurship and Precariousness: The Case of Performance artists in Italy and France
Abstract: The thesis is devoted to exploring the subjective experiences of cultural workers in relation with contemporary processes of precarisation and aestheticization of work in neoliberal and pandemic times. The focus is on theatre actors in the city of Milan. They have also been one of the working categories most hit by Covid-19 crisis and among the protagonist of collective mobilisations that took place in 2020 spring. The study employs a qualitative methodology of research based on in-depth interviews and ethnography to access research participants narratives and discourses about life and work that are regarded through a discourse analytical approach that considered the level of motivation and educational path, the professional experiences and discursive articulations about work, the role of body, emotions and relationships on the workplace, dynamics of power and subjects' individual and collective instances of resistance.
