This talk as three major goals. First, I provide a brief overview of my theoretical framework for analyzing gender as a social structure. My theoretical argument directs attention to three distinct levels of analysis: the individual, the interactional, and the macro, as well as the causal and recursive relationships between them. Within this argument, I differentiate between the material organization of social life and the cultural logic within each level of analysis. Second, I present data on a variety of American samples of Millennials and their positionality vis a vis the gender structure, with particular attention to their views of marriage and relationships. I present these data using a gender structure analysis. Finally, I end the talk with my argument that to reach a just world with full equality we must construct a post-gender society.
