Topic of the thesis: How New Social Norms Evolve in Times of Crisis and Shape Collective Behavior

Abstract: Even though almost four years have passed since the beginning of the pandemic, studies exploring and understanding the role and functioning of social norms in addressing and resolving global issues are still somewhat sparse. My research is motivated to study the role of social norms in fostering cooperative behavior and as a case study, I examine COVID-19 pandemic and related social norms, such as mask-wearing and social distancing.
