Dr Paola Galimberti – University of Milan

Monday 27th February 2012 h: 14.30 – 16.30 Room A Graduate School in Social and Political Sciences, via Pace 10

The institutional repository of Milan University (AIR) gathers the whole scientific production of the institution since 2004: journal articles, monographs, book chapters, proceedings, Phd Theses and patents. Upload of metadata is mandatory since 2009, and full-text is recommended where it is possible. Deposit of Doctoral theses (metadata and full-text) is mandatory since November 2010. Data from AIR are source for the evaluation of the scientific production of the University (Departments, research groups and graduate schools). The repository has a great visibility in search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Scientific Commons ecc. The new tool "statistics" gives the possibility to see downloads and views.

Aim of the seminar is to explain the centrality of the repository in the research information system of the University, to illustrate the links to important European projects (Dart Europe, OpenAIRE) and to clarify copyright and re-use issues.
