International Collaborations

International Collaborations

The world is the working environment of research students. A graduate school needs to be nested in the international research arena. NASP is pursuing this goal in several ways, the most important of which is surely the setting of several institutional links with foreign universities in the US and Europe, including Boston College, Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, the London School of Economics, the Université Catholique de Louvain, the University of Amsterdam, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Harvard University and others.


Since the A.Y. 2014-2015, the PhD programme in Sociology and Methodology of Social Research (SOMET) has called 2 PhD positions for joint degrees with two LERU partner universities – Lund University (Department of Gender Studies) and University of Amsterdam (Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research - AISSR).

In the A.Y. 2013/2014 the PhD programme in Economic Sociology and Labour Studies established one joint supervision with the University of Aix-en-Provence and two with the University of Amsterdam (UvA).

In the A.Y. 2014/2015 the PhD programme in Economic Sociology and Labour Studies established one joint supervision with the University of Buxelles and two with the University of Amsterdam (UvA).

In the A.Y. 2015/2016 the PhD programme in Political Studies established one joint supervisions with the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and one with the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM).In the A.Y. 2016/2017 the PhD programme in Economic Sociology and Labour Studies established one joint supervision with the University of Paris 7-Diderot.

Since the A.Y. 2015/2017 NASP has cooperated with BIGSSS of the University of Bremen in European and international projects for doctoral students.

Since the A.Y. 2016/2017 NASP has cooperated with the University of Mannheim in the organization of the EITM Summer Institute.

During the second year of the Ph.D. Programme, NASP students are encouraged to spend part of the year researching abroad. Here follows the list of Univerisities or Institutions visited by NASP students during the last years for each Ph.D. programme.
